The HEyeWall: A very high-resolution display wall
The Fraunhofer IGD HEyeWall is a prime example of what can be achieved by combining many COTS components: a high-quality, 6000x3000 pixel passive stereo projection screen providing high-quality, highly interactive display of complex scenes.
It consists of 48 standard projectors with 1024x768 pixel each combined with
Infitec filters for stereo separation and driven by a separate standard Linux PC connected by GBit Ethernet. #OpenSG#[http://www.opensg.org\ delivers the software infrastructure to run on this cluster, color correction was done to a large part by ISI, the main contractor, on the projector side and is finished by IGD's in-house color correction software.
